practically wordless wednesday

Josh sent this to me after reading yesterday's bacon post.... GROSS!

Happy Wednesday!!

Bacon Soda?!

So yesterday while looking for a picture of diet coke for my "5 Things I Love" post I came across this little gem:

Bacon is EVERYWHERE these days.
At the candy shop my mom and Josh's mom work at they have Vosges
bacon chocolate bars and Pink Peony bacon maple truffles. A few weeks ago a friend of ours went to VooDoo Doughnuts down in Portland and brought us a Bacon Maple bar and it was super good... tasted just like when you get syrup on your bacon at breakfast. Vivenne over at The V Spot also just featured a Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.
I know bacon infused foods are HUGE right now but I just can't wrap my head
around Diet Coke with Bacon...
Hey don't knock it 'til you try it, right?!?!
Have a good day friends! :)

5 things I love!!

I'm participating in Friend Makin Monday over at the Silver Lining
for the first time. This week's question:

List 5 things {aside from the obvious} that you love

1. I love sushi... fresh, tasty, delicious sushi. YUM!!

2. I bright colored nail polish, especially on toes!!

3. I love diet coke w/ fresh lime...
not to be confused with the diet coke with lime flavoring

4. I love big statement rings.
I wear mine on my right hand and they make me so happy!
This is my very favorite ring, I wear mine almost every day
I got this ring for Easter and think it's super fun

My best friend's mom makes GORGEOUS jewelry and made the last two rings... her stuff is awesome, check out her website HERE!

5. The Harbour Public House aka "The Pub" here on Bainbridge Island.
I love eating on the deck in the spring/summer, it has the most amazing view of Seattle through the sailboats in the harbor.

Opening Day

Pretty much as soon as we found out that I was pregnant last year and
all throughout the baseball season Josh said, "I can't wait to take our
baby to Mariner's games!!"

Josh and I have loved going on dates to Mariner's games over the years
and Josh just loves baseball in general so it made perfect sense that
he would want to share his love for the sport with our baby.

Then it went from Mariner's games to, "Man, I can't wait
to take our baby to Opening Day!" We then found out that
we were having a boy and it was, "I'm so excited to take our
son to Mariner's Opening Day!" Then came Jayden, we fell in
love and therewas a face to go with the plan and Josh was sold.

But then we stopped talking about it and just like everyone else
money is a little tight for the Beahan family these days... so I
just figured that our Opening Day idea wasn't going to work out.

This is Josh Shore:

My Josh has been friends with this Josh since they were wee little boys.
Josh was even in our wedding:

Their dad's used to live in the same neighborhood so when they would visit their dads they would play catch together. Then Josh Shore's dad moved... and they thought they had lost each other forever ;) A few years later they they both ended up playing for the same select baseball team in Seattle and were reunited.

Anyways, I thought that Opening Day was a no-go... but the day before my Josh surprised me with tickets that he had bought with Josh Shore MONTHS ago.

Good job Josh's, you got me good!!

Anyways, enough rambling... here are some pictures from Opening Day:

Josh and Jay on the ferry (Josh got Jay a mini Mariners hat)

Me and Jay on the boat...
sometimes it's hard to get him to look at the camera

"The Safe"

Ken Griffey Jr.

Randy Johnson aka The Big Unit, threw out the first pitch...
it was so cool to see him on the mound

brought back the memories

loved the sign

Randy Johnson was surprised and joined on the field by former teammates
Dan Wilson, Ken Griffey, Edgar Martinez and Jay Buhner... you gotta love these guys!

Josh, Josh, me and a sleeping baby

Josh and I with the miraculous sleeping baby.
I don't know how Jay slept... fireworks were going off!

Jayden and Uncle Josh... Jay was a little grumpy

We had an awesome time at the game, it brought back tons of good memories and made me excited for the memories Jay will make with us going to games. I love going to Mariners games and it's so easy, hop on the ferry and walk a few blocks and you're at the stadium!

How I met Josh

It’s “show us your life” Friday over at Kelly’s Korner and this week’s topic is how you met your husband.

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

Josh and I grew up 45 minutes away from each other and it really blows my mind that we didn't meet earlier on considering how many times our paths crossed. I went to a small private Christian school that went from K-9th grade and Josh went to our rival Christian school that was k-12th grade the next town over (how nerdy does that sound?!). Josh and I laugh because we each played basketball in junior high so we must have watched each other play since the girls and boys teams traveled together and had to watch each others games. In the graduation ceremony from the school I went to each 9th grader had to walk with a Kindergartener who was also graduating and I walked with Josh’s little brother, Richie, and Josh was in the audience. Anyways, I went on to Bainbridge High School and Josh stayed at his school, King’s West. We each went on to college… Josh went on to play baseball for George Fox University and I went on to play basketball Skagit Valley College and then at Emmaus Bible College in Iowa the next year. Josh ended up breaking his leg in two places and decided not to go to George Fox for the fall of ’06. A few weeks before I was to head back to Iowa for school my mom had a biopsy on a lump her head, had major surgery and we waited for results to see if the lump was cancerous. I decided not to go back to Iowa and to instead enroll in our local community college and then move back to Iowa in the winter. Well, God had other plans. About a week into school the women’s basketball coach asked me if I would come and play basketball with the school team and I agreed. Josh was on the boys team but unable to play because he was injured. Josh likes to say that he tried to talk to me a few times and that I blew him off but I’m pretty sure I would remember a gorgeous 6’8 guy trying to strike up a conversation with me!! A friend of mine from the girl’s basketball team who was friends with Josh and his roommate kept asking me what I thought of Josh and she finally talked me into going over to their house with her to hangout.... and the rest is history!!

Our first official date was to a Sonics game....
Man, do I miss having the NBA in Seattle!!

The first picture I have of Josh and I as a couple.
As you can see we are both total goof-balls!!

I'd say we are a good match...

Josh and I with Richie creeping in the background, haha!!

Josh and I on the beach in front of the house he grew up in

how can you not love a man that gets you coffee?!

We love baseball

Josh's family said that they knew that Josh was pretty serious about me when he decided to bring me to their family cabin in Montana.

Cheering on my sister, Claire, at her state basketball game!

Josh and I with my friends Jill and Lindsey from Iowa.

My grandpa grew up in Boston and my family is
made up of some die hard Red Sox fans,
Josh's dad played for the Yankees in the early 80's...
It'll be interesting to see what team our kids cheer for.

Then Josh gave me this:

Then this happened:

...and then a year and a half later came this:

And now we are a happy little family of 3:

God has really blessed us and we are so thankful for the amazing life he's given to us.
