He did it!!

This studly beast graduated from the Fire Academy on Sunday
... and I couldn't be more proud of him!

It was so special to see Josh and his classmates graduate after all of their hard work and long hours!

Josh's dad (and family) came which was extra special for Josh, his dad (who has been a firefighter for 22 years) is one of the main reasons Josh wanted to even get into firefighting.

Our little family after the ceremony!
* isn't Jay getting so big!?!
*

And I must confess... I may have shed a tear or two... I'm just so proud of Josh!

Mariners Game

On Thursday my boys and I headed off to the Mariner's game to meet up with some friends and the weather was PERFECTION! The ferry ride over to Seattle was gorgeous... I cannot tell you how much I've been lovin' the sunshine that we've been having!

(Me, Josh, Jesse, Veronica & Jayden, Adam, Celena)

Our friend's Jesse and Veronica were up from Arizona for a wedding so we took advantage of their visit and got the gang together. Josh, Jesse and Adam all went to school together and were groomsmen in our wedding. I've know Celena since 4th grade, she and Adam met when they were in our wedding and have been dating ever since! It was so fun to hangout and Jay was on his best behavior.

and Jay is apparently getting over being camera shy...

six months old already?!

Today my sweet little man is 6 months old and I cannot believe how fast the months are flying by!! Jayden had his 6 month check-up today, we got the green light to start baby food and he's in the 91st percentile for height and weight! He also got a bunch of shots today, poor little guy. I think the shots hurt me more than they hurt him, he started crying and looking @ me like, "Mom! Help!!" :( Jay's pediatrician was surprised by how talkative he is, wonder where he gets it?! ;) I'll do a 6 month post with milestones and such once we take this month's picture in his crib [I didn't forget Auntie Kristen... I know you are chompin' at the bit for it :)]

Poor little boy is all tuckered out from his shots!

We've got a big day @ the Ball Park tomorrow... we're going on a triple date (+ Jayden) to the Mariner's game with two of Josh's high school friends and their ladies, so that should be fun! Oh, and make sure to catch Fafo on America's Got Talent tonight!! Not too sure what to expect from that crazy boy...

Top2Tuesday: Reality Shows

This Top 2 Tuesday's topic is: Top 2 Reality TV shoes you would be on...

1. Dancing with the Stars
I love LOVE Dancing with the Stars and I think I could kick some celebrity booty!!

I just know I would have a blast with the snazzy outfits and spray tans… I mean, everybody looks better with a tan… right?! Plus, I think a mirror-ball trophy is just what we need on top of our mantle ;)

2. WIPEOUT

My friend, Ashley, and I are always DYYYING of laughter when we watch WIPEOUT!! It’s not even so much the wipeouts that we’re laughing out but the crazies that they have going through their obstacle courses. I would have so much fun trying to master their challenges, we’re always strategizing how we could finish each challenge and I think we would do pretty well… at least that’s what we say from my couch ;)

Hopefully this wouldn't be us...

but, either way I think it would be a blast to try out the course!!

Head over to visit Taylor @ The Undomestic Momma and tell us what your Top 2 are!!

Happy 1st Father's Day Honey!!

I am so proud of you and the man that you are. Watching you step into the role of being a father so naturally is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to raise our sweet little boy together and am so thankful that he has such a wonderful role model for a dad.
Happy Father's Day Honey, I love you!!

Show Us Your Life: Proposal Stories

This Friday's Show Us Your Life topic is Proposal Stories.

Josh proposed to me the night before Thanksgiving 2007.

Every year my mom hosts Thanksgiving at our house, my mom and I were cleaning and decorating the house when she got a call from my dad. My dad works in Seattle and had called to say that he needed my mom and I to get on the next boat to bring him some paperwork that he really needed. I thought it was pretty weird, I mean it was the night before Thanksgiving and our whole family was coming over the next day, we had work to do!! I didn't really want to go but Josh was working late that night so when she asked me to I agreed. I got ready to go and my mom said, "why don't you put on something a little nicer?!" I thought that was super weird... I mean I was dressed in my normal day to day clothes, and didn't understand why I should I dress up to go over on the boat and back? She gave me some lame excuse like, "well some of your friends might be home from college for Thanksgiving, what if you ran into them?!" haha :) So we went over to Seattle and after the boat docked we looked around for my dad, he said that he was running a little behind and asked if we could meet him half way between his office and the ferry terminal. My mom and I started walked and spotted my dad but had to go down some stairs to meet up with him... at the bottom of the stairs was Josh with a HUGE bouquet of my favorite flowers! I was so surprised! The first thing I said to him was, "Why aren't you at work?!" I went to hug him and he immediately dropped to one knee and pulled out the most gorgeous ring from his pocket. I wish that I could remember all of the sweet things that he said but I was in such shock... and a crowd had formed and a bunch of tourists were taking our picture! (I wish I could track some of those people down because I don't have any pictures from that night!) I, of course, said yes and after lots of hugs and kissing realized that my parents and the crowd was still there *oops!* and grabbed Josh's hand to start heading back to the boat to go home. Josh stopped me and said, "Where do you think you're going... the night isn't over!" My mom hugged me and took my bouquet home and Josh led me to a limo. We went to the jeweler and they gave us a bottle of champagne and wanted to make sure my ring fit perfectly, then drove around. Josh and I called some of our close friends/family and told them the good news. The holidays in Seattle are such a beautiful time, I will never forget sitting in the limo with Josh all snuggled up, trying so hard to pay attention to all the beautiful lights but being so distracted by my gorgeous ring! After a ride around the city we went to the most posh restaurant, El Gaucho. It is the hands down best restaurant I've ever been to, it has such amazing ambiance with live music, there is on open charcoal grill and there is just such an exciting vibe. From table side preparations to our wait staff, every single detail of the experience was perfect. The jeweler Josh bought the ring from had called in and ordered us an appetizer and the restaurant gave us a complementary bottle of amazing champagne. I was even escorted to and from the ladies room by our server! The whole night was magical but the best part was that the next day we saw all of our families and could share the wonderful and exciting news with them.

Fafo!

So I have this friend named Fafo...

He is seriously one of the funniest guys that I've ever met.
He is always doing something crazy to try to get a laugh out of someone.
Things like putting out the vibe at the bar:

Impersonating the guy on this commercial

or dressing up in this RIDICULOUS outfit @ Hooters
after this "dance off" @ the Cardinal's game:

In college he sent me this video...

I was so shocked and thought, what do I do?! He's really putting himself out there! I showed my friend who lived in the dorm room next to me and she received the exact same video. Turns out Fafo sent the video to all of our girlfriends!!

Anyways, now that you have a little background on my crazy friend, Fafo, I have to tell you the reason for all of this rambling. Yesterday, I found out that Fafo is going to be on America's Got Talent next Tuesday!! Faf sent me the preview link of him on next weeks show and I've just got to share it with you guys.

Haha, He is so crazy!!

Top 2 Tuesday: Guilty Pleasures

This week's Top 2 Tuesday's topic is Guilty Pleasures.
My top two guilty pleasures at the moment are....

1. Jell-o Mousse Temptations

...DELICIOUS.
Whenever I feel the need to have a little sweet treat I go to my stash of Mousse Temptations in the fridge and enjoy. They taste so good that you feel like you should regret letting yourself have one, but they're only 60 calories each!
They're my little guilty pleasure that I don't really feel that guilty about ;)

2. Watching the Kardashian's on E!

I can't exactly put my finger on what it is that I love about the Kardashians... maybe it's the fact that I wish that I could act like them sometimes and get away with it or maybe it's because of all the fun trips and places they get to go?! I don't know what it is but I can tell you one thing, it DEFINITELY isn't this guy:

yuck!!

Happy Tuesday :)

our weekend

This weekend we had beautiful weather! We took every opportunity to enjoy the sunshine.

On Saturday, Claire and I went and picked up some Baby Coppertone Sunscreen for Jay, lathered him up and headed outside. Auntie Claire also bought Jay some sunglasses that had straps!! He looked like such a goof, take a look:

Jay loves his Auntie Claire!

Ahaha! I love him, he looks so hilarious!

Then we went out for lunch at the Treehouse Cafe on the south end of the Island.
Poor Jay is teething had just stopped crying a few minutes before the picture was taken but I love that little boy's smile.

Claire and Brenton enjoying the yummy pizza.

After lunch I put Jay in the front pack and he, Claire and I went on a walk on the beach at Lynnwood Center, it was so breathtakingly beautiful.

Jay had so much fun putting his feet in the water, I wish that I would've taken a video of him laughing and kicking.

On Sunday we went to a wedding of a young couple that goes to our church.

Poor Jay he was having a hard time and I could tell his teeth were really hurting him.

Thankfully Auntie Claire was there to help me with Jay, she was my hero!!

The wedding was held at the groom's parents house, it was beautiful.

Claire, Ian and Liz

Jay was such a hit at the wedding everyone wanted a turn holding him.
I totally just noticed our church's youth pastor and his wife making out in the background of this picture!

This week's forecast calls for sunshine and I'm so excited that it's really starting to feel like summer... cuz let me tell you, this white girl needs some sun!! :)
