Ambulance Update!

So, I'm sorry that I've been a little MIA in the blogging world lately... I've just been learning about how to save lives, no big deal! ;)

Last week I had my first training sessions for my new job.
Let me tell you, I am beyond excited and I learned so much!
Without getting into too much detail, I'm currently going through the basic course/driving Ambulance training and then this Fall I will be going through EMT school.  When Josh went through his training for the Fire Department I was super pregnant with Jay and was oh.so.jealous of him.  I loved helping him study for his EMT exams and am totally fascinated by all there is to learn about the body.
This weekend I have my driving course and I have to tell you I'm a tad bit nervous.
Especially after looking at pictures like this:

 Bah!
Obviously, I know that I won't roll the ambulance but how crazy are those pictures?!  I am confident that everything will go smoothly, but just incase make sure to send the love and positive vibes my way this weekend, pretty please!!

My family thought that it would be funny to get me this bumper sticker:
umm... Thanks, but no thanks guys!

Here are a few other funnies we came across:

I haven't gotten my full uniform yet, but don't you dolls worry... When I get it you best believe that I'll be posting some picture of me in my sweet duds!  I know, I know, you can barely contain your excitement ;)

One thing that I think is super cool about Police/Fire/EMS services is that each branch has their own prayer:

God...
Grant me the ability
To give emergency care
With skillful hands,
a knowledgeable mind
And tender love and care.
Help me deal with everything,
When lives are on the line
To see the worst, administer aid,
And ease a worried mind.
So help me as I go today
Accept what fate may be
Touch theses hands,
Use this mind,
Help this EMT.
Amen.

Love it!
I know I will see things that will be difficult, but I am beyond excited to do all I can to help.  (And I'm really looking forward to not being the one in the back for a change! ;)

So, that's what I've been up to... and now that things are slowing down I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things-sleeping, blogging and tweeting included!  And remember me this weekend as I learn to drive a 14,500lb vehicle at lightning speed with lights and sirens!

Way to go! I really don't envy ambulance drivers, or any emergency vehicle driver for that matter. There are so many cars on the road to deal with... plus someone in the back to care of.

p.s. that 'ambulance driver' tank top is sweet! (:
