Summer Lovin

Hello Dolls !
One of my all time favorite things is summer.
The warm weather, the laid back atmosphere, the beach.... this list could seriously go on forever!  So while I'm laid up at home recuperating I keep finding myself dreaming of summer and I figure why fight it?!  If nothing else, it's a good motivational reminder that swuimsuit season is well on it's way {as if Pinterest doesn't already do that...}
Enjoy!

IT'S OK...

Its Ok Thursdays

Today I'm linking up with my friends Neely and Amber for their "It's Ok" Thursday weekly link-up!  Today I'm telling myself that It's ok...

to let your husband take care of you after surgery.
to let grandma watch Jay so mommy can heal.
to try do without the pain pills but then give in after you feel like you've been hit in the face with a bat.
to lay around after said surgery and rest.
to spend down time on Pinterest.
to eat nothing but tapioca and Reeses' milkshakes all day.
to be proud about finally being approved by Washington State to tech as an EMT.
to be nervous about finally being approved by Washington State to tech as an EMT.
to daydream about summer vacation, even though it's only March.
to drool over new items at Lululemon.
to enjoy playing with some of your kid's toys a little bit more than they do.
to be fairly obsessed with finding new (and cute) ways to keep my hair out of my face for work.  Current obsession: braids...

to be excited that tomorrow is Friday, even though I didn't work this week.
to make a complete fool of yourself and upload a post-surgery video of yourself to your blog.
to get cabin fever after just one day of downtime.
to still be head over heels in love with your husband.

What are you telling yourself is "ok" today?  ...I'd love to know!
Happy Friday Eve!!

One Hot Mess!

 What's up friends?
I've been up to all sorts of fun since my last post.  On Tuesday I had an appointment at the Oral Surgeon to see if I might need to have a tooth pulled... fast forward 45 minutes and I'm walking out of the office with an appointment for 7:45 the next morning and 4 different prescriptions I needed to get filled.  Not exactly my kind of surprise.  (I think the doc clued into that because as I was leaving he asked if I was going to be nervous in the morning and then proceeded to write me a prescription for percocet, ha!)  So what's a girl to do when her hubby's at work and she's freaking out about a surgery she wasn't planning on having?  Well I don't know about you, but my cure to pre-surgery anxiety = wine and my momma to the rescue!
{p.s. how cute is my mom?!}

Needless to say after some wine, some apps and quality time with my mom the thought of surgery in the morning was sounding a little more do-able.  Today I woke up bright and early, took my percocet and left Jay with grandma as Josh drove me to my appointment.  On the drive in I was texting my partner-in-crime, Kristen, and we joking about those funny videos of people as they are getting out of surgery and are TOTALLY out of it.  She begged for a video and I (of course) obliged.  Stick around this blog long enough and you're sure to learn that I'm not afraid to make a fool of myself.  I'm confident in who I am and embrace the ridiculousness.  Why am I telling you this?  Because I'm about to share with you the hot mess of a video that I sent Kristen...  enjoy.

Unfortunately the sh*t show didn't end there... on the way home Josh needed to go to the grocery store  and I insisted on coming in with him.  We, of course, ended up running into one of our friends who I insisted we take a picture with in the frozen foods aisle?!
Good Lord, look at that moonpie face!!

Anyways, I know I've gotten quite a few good laughs out of that little gem of a video and I hope you did too!  Now if you'll excuse et moi, it's time for me to enjoy a milkshake from my honey!
Happy Humpday friends!

Miscellaneous March Monday

Oh hey!  What's new you ask?  Well friends, let me fill you in...

Just in case you're wondering, Jay is still as cute as ever! {duh!}  My sweet little man turned 2 in December, he is growing like a weed and talking like crazy... repeating every little thing he hears!

Josh has been keeping busy being a stud.  Fighting fires and saving lives, no big deal... :)
No, but seriously he actually fought two house fire's this past week.
This fire on Sunday
...and this fire on Thursday
My hero!!

On Saturday Jay, Claire and I went to go visit my friend Julie and her new baby in the hospital.  Her sweet new baby girl, Amanda, is so perfect and precious... I couldn't be happier for them.

I was so excited to visit Julie at the hospital, I ran to Party City and got a bouquet of balloons.  Completely forgetting that 1. Julie's husband is totally allergic to latex and 2. hospitals don't allow latex balloons...  Needless to say I felt like a total "winner" but ended up decorating the outside of Julie's house with the toxic balloons.
{unfortunately, not all of the balloons survived the trek from the car to the porch}

Julie and I work together and usually have coffee together every week, I cannot wait for the new addition to our weekly coffee visits!  Jay became very curious as Julie began showing during her pregnancy and we would explain to him that there was a baby in there, he even went as far as to pull up her shirt and look in her pockets for the "baby in Julie's tummy!"  I'd been talking about Amanda for awhile now, so when I told Jay on Saturday that we'd finally be meeting Amanda he was pretty excited... I don't think he knew why, but when mommy's excited Jay gets excited.  When we got to the hospital Jay was pretty shy... but he noticed "Amanda's wittle toes" right off the bat and didn't hesitate to give her a few smooches on the head.

Sweet little guy could not stop talking about Amanda as soon as we got in the car ("Amana shoot hoops?" or "Jay kiss Amana on head!") until all of a sudden, mid-sentence there was silence...
poor little guy was pooped!

So, that's what's up with us on this miscellaneous Monday... kind of all over the place, but that's our life these days!  Just livin' the dream! :)

Here's to a terrific week friends!

Just keeping it real...

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Do you know who spoke those wise words?  The one and only Dr. Seuss.  I don't know if you know this or not, but today is Dr. Seuss's birthday...
He's kind of a big deal.
When I was growing up I loved Dr. Seuss.  I knew most of his books by heart from hearing them read aloud to me by my mom so many times... and while most Dr. Seuss books are silly and goofy, he does have some pretty good life advice to share.

This is one of my all time favorite quotes.

I don't know if you've noticed much or not, but I haven't been blogging much lately... like at all.

See, I have been debating about making my blog private or possibly even deleting it.  Someone had read some of my blog and didn't like it.
But, the conclusion that I have come to is this:

This is my blog.
This is an outlet for me to express myself and how I feel.  I mean no harm to anyone.  This is my history.  It can be raw at time and the truth may hurt, but that is what this is; the truth.

So, I'm gonna take the Dr.'s advice and be who I am and say what I feel.
I mean, I am kind of a big deal around here... people know me...
(name that movie! Ha!)

Anyways,
Cheers to you Dr. Seuss, Happy Birthday and thanks for the reminder!

And now that we've cleared that up, let's get back to bloggin, shall we?!
