trying to pass the time...

I am getting so excited to me our little guy and now that we know we will meet him Tuesday I can hardly focus on anything. Last night I made a triple batch of sugar cookies and then this morning I made some blue frosting and tried my hand at Royal Icing for the time. I'm making the cookies for our visitors at the hospital and am really happy with the way they turned out.

Here they are with just the frosting.

I used the Royal Icing on top and monogrammed the baby’s initials on the cookies with it.

Josh and I haven't told many people the name we've chosen for the little guy but here is a huge hint... his initials monogramed! Any guesses? I might have gone a little overboard with the cookie making BUT it was a good distraction. Tomorrow we have our ultrasound and then the next day we get to meet him! Please keep us, our doctor and our little guy in your prayers.

3 days and counting!!

So, I've been pretty preoccupied lately because we found out at our appointment that we are having a c-section this Tuesday! I cannot believe that we are going to be meeting our son in 3 days I am so excited! Josh and I have been getting all of the last minute details taken care of. We’ll be bringing the laptop to the hospital so I’m sure Josh will post pictures on-line soon after our little guy is born. We would appreciate your prayers!!

Let's get this show on the road...

I’m starting to get anxious for our OB appointment tomorrow!! If the little guy hasn’t dropped by tomorrow we will most likely be scheduling a c-section. We definitely weren’t planning on having a c-section but if it is the safest form of delivery for the little man, then I’m ready. I have had zero energy lately and today was a pretty lazy day for me, I have been watching Food Network for most of the day and kept thinking, “wow, my stomach is hurting!!” Well, around 4:00 I started realizing that I was having contractions… they started getting to the point that they were taking my breath away. I started to time them and they were about 10-12 minutes apart consistently but have now started to slow. Josh works late tonight and my good friend and co-worker Nicole just called and we are going to go out for Indian food tonight, I think I’m am going to have to turn up the heat and hopefully get this party started!! (maybe 4 or 5 stars?!) If he wants to come out without a c-section, I'm more than happy to help! I’ll keep you posted ☺

What the heck is a crenshaw melon?

Your baby, almost 6 pounds and still packing on the pounds at a rate of about an ounce a day, is comparable to a crenshaw melon in size.

Today I had my last day at the coffee shop until after the little guy is born. Nothing too big is going on in our lives this week... we are pretty much just waiting for our next doctor's appointment this Thursday. At our appointment we'll find out if the little man is still breech or not, (if he is still breech we will plan on a c-section in two weeks) C-section is definitely not my first choice but whatever is best for him is what we'll do. Not much else to report for now but we will post an update when we find out anything new!

1+1=3 ?

I cannot believe how close we are to meeting our little guy! It feels like just yesterday we were just finding out the big news... We've got the crib all set up, the nursery is ready, our bags are packed and ready for the hospital but it still feels so surreal. Many people have been making predictions of when this little guy is going to make his big debut and we can’t wait to see what happens. As many of you know our little bundle of joy was quite the surprise and if we’ve learned anything this year it’s that as much as we like to think we’re in charge of our lives and have it all figured out, sometimes God has a different plan. This pregnancy has been quite a crazy one, between bed rest and all the many hospital visits… frankly, we’re excited to have him out safe in our arms!! We are at 35 weeks right now so if everything goes as planned we will be meet this little man in about 5 weeks or so. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the big day!

DISCLAIMER: We thought a blog would be a great way to keep everyone near and far up-to-date with what’s going on in our life but, neither of us have ever done this before so we’ll see how this goes J
