Happy Friday Eve!

One of my favorite blog friends, Kelly from Keeping up with Kelly & Co., calls Thursdays Friday Eve and I just love it...  It makes the weekend seems so much closer, don'tcha think?! 

Before I start with today's topic for the Blog Swap I thought I'd share these SWEET pictures of my little man.

My sweet man!  His new favorite trick is taking off his pants whenever I'm not paying attention, that and "brushing his hair" {notice the brush}  where he basically just rubs the brush around on his head.
He is way too cute and I just had to share!

Day #4's topic:
For Valentine's Day I {LOVE} to bake/cook...

When I first read today's prompt I laughed out loud because the first thing that came to mind was the heart shaped meatloaf outlined in red ketchup that my mom used to make for us every year for Valentine's Day--and yes, I'm being completely serious.  Thankfully for you I will not be sharing that recipe today...

One of my favorite things to bake for Valentine's Day are heart shaped sugar cookies.  

My very favorite recipe for sugar cookies is 
Ethel's Sugar Cookie Recipe.

What you'll need:

2 1/2 c. flour

1 t baking powder

1 t salt

3/4 c. butter

1 c. sugar

2 eggs

1/2 t vanilla

Directions:

-sift flour, baking powder and salt into a medium mixing bowl

-cream together butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla and mix until light and fluffy

-add dry ingredients a little at a time and mix until combined

-wrap dough in plastic or place in an airtight container and refrigerate overnight

-pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F

-roll out dough to 1/8" thickness and cut cookies

-bake 6 minutes for medium-sized cookies

These are seriously the best sugar cookies I've ever had.  My mom and grandma use this recipe and it's the same one that I used to make the cookies I took to the hospital when I had Jay. Hope you enjoy!

Well hello and happy Wednesday!  I once again have linked up with the fabulous Leigh Ashley for WBOM Wednesday.{one} ice: crushed or cubed? crushed, for sure

{two} what is your worst traffic pet peeve?I hate when two lanes merge and the people in the lane that's ending try and force their way in even after it's down to one lane.
{three} what room in your house best represents your personality?I think my reading nook is the part of the house that represents me most.  I love to sit and read or blog there, it's so relaxing to me.  I have pictures up of people I love, I have my yummy smelling candle and some of my favorite blankies... it's just so ME! 

{four} do you save old birthday cards?I save every card I get from my grandma, she always picks the best cards and writes the most sincere and heart felt messages inside... her cards are some of my most treasured possessions.
{five} when was the last time you went on a picnic?One of my favorite things to do is to get some of our favorite snacks, get in bed and watch Netflix with Josh.  I put down a blanket {because I HATE crumbs in my bed} and we have a little bed picnic.  Last week we ordered some Thai food and watched a movie in bed... it was amazing.  It's so much better than a real picnic, plus it's been WAY too cold for one lately.
{six} do you regularly check your horoscope?no I never check my horoscope.  
{seven} when you’re home, what do you wear on your feet?Fuzzy socks, uggs or these Victoria's Secret slippers that I'm obsessed with:

{eight} what’s your favorite gambling game? I think my favorite gambling game would have to be the penny slots.  High roller, I know!  Last week my boss gave me an envelope of "lucky money" for the Vietnamese New Year and I bought 3 Lotto tickets and {of course} didn't win.  

{nine} have you ever written (or started writing) a book?no, but I think it would be really fun to!
{ten} what is your favorite musical?

The Sound of Music. 

Alrighty girls, I'm off to have lunch with my dear friend Julie.  It is a GORGEOUS sunny day here on Bainbridge Island and I'm loving it!  I think I might just have to whip out the hot pink shades to celebrate.
