WBoM

Well hello and happy Wednesday!
I once again have linked up with the fabulous Leigh Ashley for WBOM Wednesday.
{one} ice: crushed or cubed?
 crushed, for sure

{two} what is your worst traffic pet peeve?
I hate when two lanes merge and the people in the lane that's ending try and force their way in even after it's down to one lane.

{three} what room in your house best represents your personality?
I think my reading nook is the part of the house that represents me most.  I love to sit and read or blog there, it's so relaxing to me.  I have pictures up of people I love, I have my yummy smelling candle and some of my favorite blankies... it's just so ME

{four} do you save old birthday cards?
I save every card I get from my grandma, she always picks the best cards and writes the most sincere and heart felt messages inside... her cards are some of my most treasured possessions.

{five} when was the last time you went on a picnic?
One of my favorite things to do is to get some of our favorite snacks, get in bed and watch Netflix with Josh.  I put down a blanket {because I HATE crumbs in my bed} and we have a little bed picnic.  Last week we ordered some Thai food and watched a movie in bed... it was amazing.  It's so much better than a real picnic, plus it's been WAY too cold for one lately.

{six} do you regularly check your horoscope?
no I never check my horoscope.

{seven} when you’re home, what do you wear on your feet?
Fuzzy socks, uggs or these Victoria's Secret slippers that I'm obsessed with:

{I let Claire borrow them for her Halloween Costume}

{eight} what’s your favorite gambling game?
I think my favorite gambling game would have to be the penny slots.  High roller, I know!
Last week my boss gave me an envelope of "lucky money" for the Vietnamese New Year and I bought 3 Lotto tickets and {of course} didn't win.

{nine} have you ever written (or started writing) a book?
no, but I think it would be really fun to!

{ten} what is your favorite musical?
The Sound of Music.

Alrighty girls, I'm off to have lunch with my dear friend Julie.  It is a GORGEOUS sunny day here on Bainbridge Island and I'm loving it!  I think I might just have to whip out the hot pink shades to celebrate.
Happy Humpday!!

All You Need is LOVE Challenge: Day 3

Once again I'm linking up for the "All you need is LOVE" Blog Swap and Challenge with my girl Neely-feel free to join in too!

If I could travel anywhere this chilly February, I would {LOVE} to go...

Somewhere warm and sunny with my honey!
I think someplace like this would do just fine,
what do you think?!
A private little bungalow surrounded by gorgeous crystal clear water
 maybe a few of these:
a little of this:
a little of that:
I would spend lots of time relaxing and soaking up the sun
have a little "mommy and daddy time"
 that would be heavenly

but really, I'm not picky... I'd happily take any of these destinations as a back up:
hey, a girl can dream right?!

where would you {LOVE} to get away to this winter?!

Is it Friday yet?!

Hi Dolls!
I hope that you all had a fun filled weekend, I know I did!  But, as always it was far too short and I'm already counting down the days until Friday! {but aren't I always...}

On Friday night we all went to Uncle Dick's last home game of the season to cheer him on!  We cheered out little hearts out and not only did Kingston win but Richie had 17 points!!
 *Go #5!!*

My bff, Ashley, asked my to be her Maid of Honor and I couldn't be more excited!!
On Saturday night we had a girls night out and danced the night away, it was super fun to get out and get some quality girl time in!!

Josh had the day off on Sunday and it was so nice to be able to spend the whole day together, we ended up going to our friend's Nicole and Garrick's house to watch the Super Bowl with them!!  I'm so bummed that we're losing them to Nashville this Spring, I am really going to miss them! Looks like Nashville is claiming two more of my favorite people...
Now more than ever I have an excuse to pay Nashville a visit!  I'm excited for my sweet cousin and friend to meet, they both have so much in common and I just know that they will hit it off! {I mean they both  me, right?! ;) }

I won my first giveaway from Jen over at A Girl in Pearl & A Boy with Toys! I was so excited when I saw my loot in the mailbox today and Jen's 700 follower giveaway was such an awesome giveaway to win!!
You can read about all of my fabulous giveaway goodies *here*

Super Bowl Commercials are always one of my most favorite things about Super Bowl Sunday.  My favorite commercial this year was The VW Darth Vader Commercial:

I didn't think the commercials were all that great this year.  Nothing like this HILARIOUS Doritos commercial from last year:

And don't even get me started on Kim K's Shapeups commercial, you know I love me some Kardashians... but that was just a little too much for me!

Sunday morning Josh went on a Starbucks run and instead of coming back with a grande non-fat carmel macchiato he came back with this:
A Big Gulp of Coffee!  Caffeine anyone?!
It's Starbucks new 31oz trenta size and holy cow was I feeling the extra shots that day!! ...and I'm a barista!

Since my post today is pretty much all over the place, I've decided to link up with Carissa over at lower case letters for Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Hope you all had a great Monday!
I'm off to watch the Bachelor, I'm hoping Brad wises up this week and kicks Michelle to the curb...
She is just too much for me and what was up with that, "you're not allowed to talk" business last week?!  I'm ready to see her go!!

barista babblings

This morning a woman came into the coffee shop and walked right up to the pick up bar where I was and asked for the bathroom key, I reached for it and as I was handing it to her she crossed her legs and said, "thanks girl, I've really gotta go poopy."  Ummm, what?!  The weird thing was she was maybe a few years older than me, pretty, stylish, in cute clothes and said it like it was no big deal at all.  And when she came back, she said,"sorry, it's a little stinky in there" and smiled and walked out like it was no big deal.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's not normal--is it?!

Anyways, after the my run-in w/ the pooper I started thinking about all the random and strange things that have happened to me with customers at the coffee shop.  Enjoy:
  • A pregnant woman that used to come in all the time asked me if I could get off work early so that I could go with her to her ultrasound appointment since her husband couldn't make it.  I didn't even know her name, I just knew her as that DoubleTallNonFatDecafLattePregnantLady.
  • When I came back to work after Jay was born, an older guy said,"you live on ________ Avenue right?!" slightly creeped out I said yes and he replied with, "man, that little guy must be keeping you up late, your lights were on pretty late last night."  No joke.  Granted my car is parked in our driveway and he could have noticed it and it is a pretty small island, but it seriously freaked.me.out.
  • A week or so after I got engaged a guy asked me how I was, I told him that I was great and that I'd just gotten engaged.  He told me to give the ring back and run because marriage was the worst thing that anyone could ever do to themselves. A few minutes later his wife came in and started bossing him around and he looked at me and pointed to her like *see, I told you so*
  • One crazy lady started stalking one of our regular customers, she would come in and ask if he had been there yet or if I knew what time to expect him in.  She would leave her number for him or ask me to tell him hi for her.  The poor guy was so weirded out by her and that he stopped coming in to avoid running in to her.  She even asked me if I could set up a blind date for the two of them, after I told her that he hadn't been in in weeks she never came back.
  • This man came in and told me that he was having the hardest time figuring out what to get his wife for Christmas, I told him that I was sure whatever he got her would be great!  He must have brought his laptop up to the counter at least 10 times to get my opinion on gift ideas.  He even brought her in after Christmas to show me the coat I helped him pick out for her!
  • One of my favorite regulars that I used to talk with almost everyday started talking to me about the big day she had ahead at work.  I knew little tid-bits of her life since we chatted almost daily while I made her coffee.  I knew that she was a yoga teacher and a masseuse so I was so blown away when she told me that she was also a sex therapist and was coaching a threesome that night & was really dreading it because the always try to get her to join. Say what?!  You try keeping a straight face through that!
  • One day while Josh and I were dating he came in to hang out at the shop while waiting for me to get off of work.  I didn't notice he was there at first and when I finally did noticed him sitting there I waved and winked at him.  Well, the guy sitting at the table in front of Josh's saw and waved AND winked back.  The guy even came up to the counter and started chatting me up, it wasn't until he turned to go back to his table that he saw Josh and turned bright red.
  • One lady told me that I was the reason she wasn't losing weight and that she knew what I was up to.  She was positive that I'd been making her drink with whole milk or half & half instead of non-fat milk.  I had to make sure that she watched my grab the non-fat or else she would return it.  I once remade her drink 3x until I finally told her that she was more than welcome to watch me make her drink, but I was only going to make it one more time.  She was sure that I was plotting against her and trying to sabotage her weight loss goals.
  • A gay couple used to find out my schedule and would only come in when they knew I was on bar because they said they only liked my coffee.  One day they asked me if I would ever consider being an egg donor or a surrogate for them.
  • A man I'd never seen before ordered a Red Eye (coffee w/ shots of espresso) I made it for him and handed it to him.  He looked at it disgustedly and asked, "what the hell is this" I explained that it was a Red Eye and explained what was in it.  He asked why anyone would ever order such a nasty drink, threw it on the ground and walked out.
  • There have been actually been a few fights between people waiting in line who get impatient.

Ok, I'll stop, I could go on for days... seriously.  I meet the wackiest people at work.  Sometimes I wish that coffee shops and cafe's worked like bars and that I could throw the unruly ones out.  Thankfully, I also meet a lot of nice people at work and of course a few great tippers.

Happy Friday Ladies!
Don't forget to tip your barista! ;)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I cannot even begin to tell you how thankful I am that it's Wednesday, I am ready for the weekend!  We had so much fun on our little getaway with Josh's family, I was really bummed when it was time to pack up and head home... it was just too short!  I can't wait to go back again later this month for a whole week!!  I just have so much that I'm loving and want to blog about that I'm joining in on What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Josh let me stop at ULTA on our way home from our little getaway, love that man!  I've really been on a nail polish kick lately and when I spied this little number I just knew I had to have it:

It's from OPI's Katy Perry collection and it's called Teenage Dream.  The pink, the bling... I looove it.  After I got home, I saw that my girl Allie aka Pink Lou Lou fell in love with this gorg color too.  I've gotten a lot of compliments on it from customers at work and I think it just might be my new favorite polish.

I'd heard a lot of good things about Matrix Sleek Look Shampoo/Conditioner, but after seeing my blog friend Jenn aka WestSac Honey tweet about her love for it I picked some up on my ULTA trip haul.  I'm going to be 100% straight up with you girls... this shampoo is amazeballs.  I've only washed my hair with it twice so far, but my hair already feels so healthy-- I love it!

Before we left for our little getaway I sent out a tweet asking for book recommendations and my sweet blog/twitter friend Lindsey from Mr. and Mrs. Smith suggested this book to me.  I love Candace Cameron Bure, she is such a great christian role model and so far I love her book too!  I'm hoping to finish the rest tomorrow during Jay's naptime! *fingers crossed*

I didn't know if I'd like twitter when I first tried it, but I love it.  I've met so many fun people and have learned about so many products, blogs, movies, brands, books... etc.  I have the twitter app on my iPhone and love how easy it is to check in and see what's new with all my twitter pals.  I just love my little twitter family.  If you have twitter, you should drop me a line and say hi! My name is BrittBeahan.

Alrighty, it's getting late and Lord knows I need me some beauty sleep!!
Happy Groundhogs Day!

Did anyone hear if Puxatony Phil saw his shadow or not??
