Pray for Jay

Please keep our sweet son, Jay, in your prayers. Monday night we were giving Jay a bath when I noticed that his groin area was very swollen, when I touched the area poor Jayden started crying and screaming. That night Jay didn't hardly sleep at all and cried the whole night, I knew that something was definitely wrong. Josh and I took Jay to the pediatrician as soon as they opened the next day to see his doctor. Our doctor took a look at Jay’s groin and told us that she was fairly sure that he had bilateral hernias and after feeling around she felt the hernias and tried to relieve them by pushing his intestines out of his scrotum. After the hernias were relieved Jay went straight to sleep. The doctor told us that we needed to go in to Seattle that day to have him looked at by the pediatric surgeon at Swedish hospital. Thankfully we were already going over to Seattle for my 6 week postpartum appointment at Swedish and then Jay had an ultrasound to check his hips (a standard procedure for all breech babies) and kidneys (they had noticed some warning signs when I had my last ultrasound). Well, needless to say the day way INSAINE! My appointment went well and Jayden’s ultrasound went wonderfully. I told the ultrasound tech that he had two hernias but she was so rough with him :( Jay was so good though, he didn’t even cry!! Next we met with the pediatric surgeon at the hospital and he was awesome! The surgeon was sure that he had hernias as well but wished that our pediatrician hadn’t relieved them so that he could see how bad they had been. Jay was so hungry but the doctor made us take Jay’s clothes off and wouldn’t let me feed him. The doctor was trying to make Jay cry and see if the crying would cause the intestines to protrude again, it was so hard to just stand there and watch my baby cry!! The surgeon said that he needed to call our pediatrician to go over what she saw that morning when she relieved the hernias. The doctor went over the ins and outs of the surgery and I told him how nervous the thought of having my baby be put under was to me (I mean he isn’t even old enough for baby Tylenol) and he assured me that they don’t like to do surgery until babies are at 12 weeks unless it's 100% necessary. We tentatively scheduled the surgery for 6-7 weeks from now but if the hernias continue to protrude we will go ahead with the surgery right away. I’m really praying that Jay’s body will just heal itself and that surgery won’t be needed but if it is I would much rather he be at the hospital’s desired age for the surgery.
