Wyatt

Yestday after 16 wonderful years our beloved dog and trusted friend, Wyatt, went to doggie heaven. We will never forget all the good times we had together. Wyatt was more than a dog, he was a member of our family, a loyal friend and great companion. Wyatt was a friend to all and kind to every creature that crossed his path, be it human or animal. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. We'll always love you Wyatt boy!

Lazy Sunday

Last night was a rough one, Jayden is usually a really good sleeper but last night he was NOT. Jay and I didn't get to sleep until 6 this morning so needless to say we didn't make it to church today :( Josh let me sleep in and watched Jay this morning for a little while, it was such a nice treat! It was so nice to just relax at home today, we did some cleaning and watched football. Josh, Jay and I met up with my good friend Nicole at Blackbird Bakery and had some yummy food. It was so nice to go to Blackbird Bakery, I probably shouldn't say that since I manage a competing coffee shop but they have such good food and a really cool atmosphere (but we have WAY better coffee). When I go to Blackbird I sometimes see customers from Andante (the coffee shop I work at) and they always looked surprised to see me there and they tell me their excuses for being at there, it's pretty funny! Our late lunch was super yummy, Nicole got tomato basil soup with toast and Josh and I split a piece of ratatouille. I'd never had ratatouille before but it was surprisingly really yummy and had lots of hearty vegetables.

Nicole and I met working at Andante (I actually interviewed her and hired her, haha) and I love her so much. Nicole's husband, Garrick, is an officer in the Navy and is out on the sub until the spring. While Garrick is out to sea Nicole is going home to Chicago to be with her family until he gets back. We're gonna miss them!

Great Great Grandma Hurd

Today was my Great Grandma Hurd's 98th birthday party at Crista Shores Retirement Community where she lives in Silverdale. My sister Claire and I stopped by with Jayden and Great Grandma got to meet her first great great grandchild! I didn't realize until we got there that great grandma had no idea that we were coming, it was so fun to see her face when we walked in! (I forgot my camera so the picture quality on these isn't that great since they're taken on my iPhone)

Here is my dad showing Jay off to Grandma

Claire, Dad, Jay and I

Here we are with the birthday girl
(we're missing my dad's mom to have every generation represented
but we span 5 generations in this picture)

It was so special to have great grandma meet Jayden and it was wonderful to catch up with family that we don't see often.

Happy 1 month Birthday Jay!!

I haven't posted anything for awhile because someone hacked into our wireless network and locked us out! Anyways, Jay is one month old today and a lot has happened since my last post (and I will post the pictures of him in his "one month" onesie that I took soon) but I thought I would show off some cute pictures of Jayden tonight at bath time. This little boy has everyone in our family wrapped around his little fingers, I mean take a look... Josh, Auntie Claire and I were all there to help bathe Jay tonight and he got some stellar first class service if I do say so myself!

how many hands does it take to bathe a baby?! haha!

He is such a good boy and we are so blessed! Happy One Month Birthday Jay, we've loved every minute of this month and look forward to watching you grow up... just don't do it too fast!

Jay's Modeling Debut

Here are the adorable pictures that were taken of Jay at the hospital by Bella Baby Photography while he was less thatn 24hrs old. These pictures are SO sweet and I feel so blessed because I didn't think that we were ever going to see the pictures again. The pictures were super expensive and although I really wanted them I just figured I would try to do a similar photo-shoot at home with Jay. I was so excited when Josh's mom and grandma told us that they had bought us the picture cd from Bella Baby, what a treat! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the shoot...

look at those beautiful blue eyes

Jay with Josh's wedding ring

look how tiny he is in Josh's hand!

he was so alert for being less than a day old

he kind of looks like a little old man here

these basket pictures reminds me of the
"Moses in the Reeds" story in the bible

look how big those hands are!

Josh and I were inspired while looking through the picture cd from Bella Baby Photography so we did a little photo-shoot of our own, here are some of the good shots we got:

Ok, I'll stop now :) I just love my little man and and think he so cute... Hope you enjoyed the photos!

Mommy Paparazzi

I have an obsession… I cannot stop taking pictures of Jayden! I may be just a little bias but I think that Josh and I may have made the cutest baby ever. I think this little blog "button" fits my addiction perfectly!

Here are some adorable pictures of our handsome man:

Jay on his changing table

our camera's flash is a little startling to Jay

Not too much going on in our life these days... we are laying low, changing diapers and getting used to being parents (which we are loving). I don't really mind the lack of sleep very much, I really look forward to seeing him each time I wake-up. I mean look at this face:

Today Josh's mom and sister brought us Thai food from Sawadty (my favorite!) and ate dinner with us, it was such a nice treat. Josh's mom also dropped of some mini Uncle Seth's cookies... take a look at how cute these are!

They were so yummy and were a nice treat for Josh and I to share!

I am not looking forward to Josh going back to work this Wednesday BUT I have a hair appointment Tuesday so that I can leave Jay with daddy. Off to bed to try to get some sleep. We have to be on an early boat tomorrow as Jay is getting circumcised tomorrow by my doctor in Seattle (poor little guy) Josh is going to be in the room for the procedure and I'll be in the waiting room, I don't think that I could handle being in there and Josh says, "it's man stuff" so he will be in there will him. Goodnight friends!

Introducing... Jayden Scot Beahan

Josh and I are proud to announce the birth of our son, Jayden Scot Beahan. Jay was born December 22nd at 4:30pm, weighed 6lbs 10oz and was 19" long. I was very apprehensive about the c-section but Josh did such a good job of calming my nerves. The surgery went really well (I love our doctor) and Jayden was out within five minutes of the surgery's start... the rest of the surgery was a blur as I was completely focused on Jay.

I was so glad that I was able to take pictures of the nurses checking Jayden out after he was born and of Josh holding him and cutting his cord.

I was so surprised at how small our little guy was (considering that I'm almost 6'3 and that Josh is 6'8) and was also surprised that he had hair (Josh and I were both bald for a long time). Both Josh and I were talking last night about what a crazy feeling it was to meet Jayden, everyone tells you how much you are going to love your baby but nobody can ever really explain the love that you feel when you meet your child. The hospital stay was so nice, our doctor told the nurse to take us to "VIP" after we left the recovery room... Josh and I both laughed not knowing what she meant. Our room at the hospital was amazing, we were on the 10th floor with an amazing view of downtown Seattle and Elliot Bay... thank you Dr. Burdick!!

I didn't get any pictures of the view but you can kind of see the beautiful
Seattle skyline at night in this picture

When we got out of the OR our nurse informed us that there was a full waiting room filled with our family and friends waiting to welcome Jayden into the world, we felt so blessed to have such an amazing support group to be there for us and meet our little guy. We were also blessed with many visitors on the second day of our hospital stay.

Josh with Uncle Jesse and Uncle Adam who came to see Jayden

It has been so amazing to see Josh as a dad. I always knew that Josh would be a wonderful father but to see his love for Jay and how he has taken to being a dad so naturally has been the coolest thing. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and father for our son.

(isn't Josh such a natural?!)

It has been so fun having Josh home and going through all of the new adventures of parenting with him, I'm gonna be really sad when he has to go back to work. Anyways, it's time to get back to my boys! :)
