Top 2 Tuesday: Outfits your loving for Spring

Spring is such a fun time of year.  I love the feeling of heading out of the colder winter months and warming up.  Spring clothes are so fun and fresh. I just love the transition of winter to spring... especially in my wardrobe.

1. I love the look of having a fun, bright top layered underneath a cardigan or button up.  These all would be super cute for a bottom layer:

with a cute button up or cardigan:

 2. I also love dresses and skirts, they are perfect for spring:

3. And of course... you've got to have a great pedicure for  all of those cute spring sandals!

Ok, now I'm all excited for Spring and it's only January!
But, I can't get too carried away with thoughts of spring just yet...  I have lots of snowmobiling and hot cocoa in my future!  We just decided that we're going to go on a mini little vacation to Josh's dad's vacation home in Eastern Washington next weekend!  *praying for lots of snow!*

sick

My poor boys have been sick, Josh even missed work for the last 2 days and that NEVER happens.  So I shouldn't be too surprised that I woke up this morning feeling like total crap. I had no voice and my throat was sore, but I went to work because I hate having to call in.  As soon as my boss heard my squeaky attempt at talking she sent me straight home and told me to rest up and feel better, it was SO nice to go back home and get into bed!  We had a long family nap, watched Inception in bed and had homemade chicken soup... it was so relaxing!  Somedays doing nothing with the people you love is the best.

Favorite Things Friday

Happy Friday friends!!
Here are a few of my favorite things this Friday:

I LOVE Lululemon.
It is probably my new favorite store (sorry Nordstrom!)  I just got a new hoodie from them and just like everything I've ever gotten from them, I love it... but it had a extra little unique twist to it that made me love it even more:

A Ponytail Hole in the Hood!
Lululemon always has the cutest features with their products like back zipper for cards/keys/iPod or "cuffins" (the cuff rolls over to a mitten)  w/ thumbholes for warm hands.  I'm lovin my new hoodie and the ponytail hole hood.

My Otterbox Case.
I got this case for my iPhone for Christmas and it's amazing.  It has a hard plastic shell which is covered by a super durable silicon skin and there is a clear touch screen protector.
At first it felt a little bulky but what I love about it is that it's totally Jay proof.    Jay is 1 now (I still am getting used to saying that *yikes!*) and he loves to play with my phone and when we are out and about and I need to distract him I'll let him play with it.  Recently he's picked up a new trick of throwing things to the ground to see if they bounce.  PRAISE JESUS for this case, without it I'm sure my iPhone would be in a million pieces!

Jillian's Yoga Meltdown
Jillian and I truly have a love/hate relationship... I always feel great after finishing her videos but I sometimes usually get annoyed with her talking/voice while the video is on. The other day Josh walked into the room cracking up because apparently I called Miss Jillian Michaels a "Nazi Biatch", frustrated much?!  Anyways, this DVD is great if you want a more athletic/gym-based yoga, it's not your traditional yoga... but it works.  I'm not going to lie, after a few days of this video I was feelin' it!

The Laughing Cow Light Cheese Wedges

I found these about a year ago and really like them.  They're only 35 calories for one wedge and super yummy and they're really creamy, kind of  like a spread.  I like to put them in wraps, add them to scrambled eggs, on a tortilla, spread on toast and I've even added it to Mac & Cheese!  But this week I found out the The Laughing Cow brand added a bunch of new flavors while I wasn't looking and I'm so excited to try them all!  So far I've only tried the Queso Fresco & Chipotle and it was really good!
Creamy Swiss
Garlic & Herb
Blue Cheese
Mozzarella Sun-Dried Tomato & Basil

Have a great weekend!
I'm super excited to sleep in tomorrow!

walking in a winter wonderland

Last night it started snowing, I was so excited!  I love snow...
We turned on the news and the weatherman said to enjoy it while we could, because at 3am it would turn to rain and all be gone by the morning.  Boo!  So what did we do?  Josh I got all bundled up and grabbed Jay's baby monitor and went for a little stroll in the snow.

Claire ended up coming with us and even though it was super late {and freezing} I'm so glad we went out for our little snow walk.

{Claire loves snow too, obviously!}

I just love how crisp and clean everything looks covered in a blanket of fresh white snow.
{our house}

On our midnight snow adventure we came across this:

a 1/2 built snowman in the middle of our road.

So, our in-house firefighter took it apart and moved it out of the road, because he's a good guy like that.
Better safe than sorry!!

My muscle man, sorry ladies... get your own! ;)
*can't you tell he's thrilled to have his picture taken?!*

Oh, and by the way Josh does own snow clothes... he just said that it felt "nice" outside so he wore his khaki shorts out in the snow on our walk:
Crazy man!

On our way home we decided to make snow ice-cream, it was super good.  Here's the ice-cream maker himself in action:
It was super good!
We definitely approve!

I was so sad going to bed knowing that in the morning all the snow would be gone.  When I got up there was still snow on the ground and we had no power!  When we don't have power, the cafe doesn't have power and when the cafe doesn't have power I don't have to go to work!!  It was such a treat to be able to crawl back into bed and sleep in AND Josh had the day off, it was so nice!

Judging by everyone's tweets last night/today we're definitely not the only ones who got some snow.  I know a lot of people really don't like snow but I just love it!  Whenever I hear that there is snow in the forecast I can't help but hope we get snowed in.  It just sounds perfect to me... Josh wouldn't have to go to work, we have plenty of firewood and hot cocoa- maybe someday!
OH!  I almost forgot!!  Today is my beautiful cousin/ partner-in-crime/ best friend's birthday!!  I'm so sad that we live so far apart and wish I could be there to celebrate with her in Nashville!
*don't they look so natural & happy in Seattle?!*
Happy Birthday Kristen!

Top 2 Tuesday: Strange Addictions

Top 2 Strange Addictions

1.  Hi, my name is Britt and I'm addicted to lip balm.  Seriously.  I love my lip sauce.  My best friend's mom has always called lip products (lip balm/ lip butter/ chapstick/ lip gloss) lip sauce and the name has definitely caught on with me and now it's not only in my vocabulary but it's my addiction.  I've always had full lips and there is nothing more unattractive to me than nasty crackly chapped lips except for big nasty crackly chapped lips... So, I'm constantly getting out the lip sauce whenever I feel like my lips are getting parched.    Plus, I love the feeling of smooth lips.  My collection is getting is little out of hand these days!  I don't know why, but I'm constantly coming home with more!  At least I have kissable lips?!

Some of my fav's:

2.  Whenever I set my alarm clock for the morning I set it for one hour ahead of when I need to wake up so that I feel like I am treating myself to an extra hour of sleeping in.  Josh always teases me about this quirky habit of mine, but there's just something about having that "extra" time all cuddled up in my warm bed w/ my honey... I love it!  Even though I still have to get up at the same time it feels like I'm treating myself, is that crazy?!

Friday's Favorite Things: Face Products

This week's topic for Friday's Favorite Things is: Fav. Face Products.
I know it's Sunday night and that Friday was two days ago!! I filmed a fun little vlog for this week's Favorite Things segment and I could not for the life of me get it to upload onto YouTube.  So, after many tries... here I am writing it all out!!
*I'm not going to be including make-up with my favorite face products because I feel like it would make this such a long post about so many different products and I think that favorite make-up should be a post of it's own.*

My #1 Favorite Face Product is IMAGE Skincare's Vital-C line
It's super hydrating and really makes my skin glow.  I love how soothing the products feel when I apply them and they all have the yummiest orangy smell to them.  I used this line when I worked at a salon before I got married and stopped using it after I quit working there.  I just started using it again a few weeks ago, it's not SUPER expensive but having healthy skin that is well taken care of is a priority is important enough for me to spend a little extra.  In the few weeks since I've been using the Vital-C line I can already see my skin looking brighter and healthier and I just love how my face feels so healthy.

This next item was kind of a splurge but it was SOOO worth it.  For Christmas a couple years ago Josh's step-mom gave me a gift certificate to a really nice spa in Seattle (Gene Juarez) and I got a facial.  During my facial the esthetician used the Clarisonic on me and I loved how clean it made my skin feel.
When I used to wash off my makeup the washcloth would have makeup on it even after I'd finished washing my face.  Now, after I use the Clarisonic there is no makeup residue on the towel when I got to dry my face!  They claim that it removes makeup 6x better than standard cleansing.  It really gives you a great deep cleansing so that your face wash and products can work like they're supposed to without a barrier hindering them.

Let me 1st say that I ❤ Seattle, but sometimes I like to have a little glow... and that's virtually impossible during a Pacific Northwest winter SO I often use a self tanner.  I've tried a lot a different facial self-tanners and have never really been impressed until I tried Lancome's Soleil Flash Bronzer, I looove it!

So, they have switched the packaging a bunch of times (the top image is the newest packaging and the three others are older packaging) but no matter what kind of bottle they put it in... it's amazing.  It really gives you an immediate, beautiful, healthy glow.  I love how natural the color you get looks and it's a gel which I love!  It's super light and sheer and NOT greasy, which is my #1 complaint with self-tanners.  It applies on so smoothly and since it's a gel you don't get streaks.  Oh, it also has vitamin E in it so it helps defend against skin damage... who doesn't love that?!

Having smooth and healthy lips is a big deal to me.  There is nothing worse than having it all together and then having chapped or dry/nasty lips - plus on top of looking nasty it can hurt!!  So I'm always picking up new lip products and these are my two favorite's right now...
Nivea's "A Kiss of Smoothness Hydrating Lip Care"

Rosebud Perfume Co. Strawberry Lip Balm

I always have one of these on me, one in my bag and then one next to my bed.  I highly recommend either of these two products, either by themselves or under lipstick/lipgloss.  Oh, and make sure to put some on before you go to bed... you'll wake up with super smooch-able lips!!

Alrighty, that's it for this Sunday's Friday's Favorite Things!

I haven't given up on doing a vlog so maybe next week I'll try again :)
