walking in a winter wonderland

Last night it started snowing, I was so excited!  I love snow...
We turned on the news and the weatherman said to enjoy it while we could, because at 3am it would turn to rain and all be gone by the morning.  Boo!  So what did we do?  Josh I got all bundled up and grabbed Jay's baby monitor and went for a little stroll in the snow.

Claire ended up coming with us and even though it was super late {and freezing} I'm so glad we went out for our little snow walk.

{Claire loves snow too, obviously!}

I just love how crisp and clean everything looks covered in a blanket of fresh white snow.

On our midnight snow adventure we came across this:

a 1/2 built snowman in the middle of our road.

So, our in-house firefighter took it apart and moved it out of the road, because he's a good guy like that.
Better safe than sorry!!

My muscle man, sorry ladies... get your own! ;)
*can't you tell he's thrilled to have his picture taken?!*

Oh, and by the way Josh does own snow clothes... he just said that it felt "nice" outside so he wore his khaki shorts out in the snow on our walk:
Crazy man!

On our way home we decided to make snow ice-cream, it was super good.  Here's the ice-cream maker himself in action:
It was super good!
We definitely approve!

I was so sad going to bed knowing that in the morning all the snow would be gone.  When I got up there was still snow on the ground and we had no power!  When we don't have power, the cafe doesn't have power and when the cafe doesn't have power I don't have to go to work!!  It was such a treat to be able to crawl back into bed and sleep in AND Josh had the day off, it was so nice!

Judging by everyone's tweets last night/today we're definitely not the only ones who got some snow.  I know a lot of people really don't like snow but I just love it!  Whenever I hear that there is snow in the forecast I can't help but hope we get snowed in.  It just sounds perfect to me... Josh wouldn't have to go to work, we have plenty of firewood and hot cocoa- maybe someday!
OH!  I almost forgot!!  Today is my beautiful cousin/ partner-in-crime/ best friend's birthday!!  I'm so sad that we live so far apart and wish I could be there to celebrate with her in Nashville!
*don't they look so natural & happy in Seattle?!*
Happy Birthday Kristen!

That snow ice cream looks so good!

And my hubby is like that too, he always wears shorts. Last year on Christmas it was in the 20s and 30s and he wore shorts to the Christmas eve service. LOL. Everyone kept asking him if he was from Alaska! (he is not)

Thanks for the sweet comment! I'm so glad you're following, and glad I found your blog! :) I'm still kind of learning, but it's so much fun. Precious baby, and I know you are enjoying him! Little boys are the best!

Your snow day looks like lots of fun! You get more snow there than we do, so I am very jealous!

I'm such a snow lover too! We got 18 inches from Tuesday through Wednesday and I had NO work which was awesome and now there is snow everywhere. Seriously, everywhere. I have never heard of snow ice cream but it sounds so good!
